SAN JOSÉ, CA - The City of San José will host a ribbon cutting for the Via Del Oro interim housing site — a 135-unit facility providing shelter for unhoused residents. This marks the first time that San José has built interim housing on underused private land. The housing community sits on two acres of land leased to the City for one dollar a year thanks to the vision and generosity of John Sobrato. The site was developed by DignityMoves and is operated by HomeFirst.

Members of the media are invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony, view a community mural project, and capture b-roll of the now-occupied community.
