Mackenzie Mossing serves as the Chief Policy Officer for Mayor Mahan, where she oversees the Mayor’s legislative agenda and policy team. A San José native, Mackenzie was raised in Almaden Valley, attended Leland High School, and earned a B.S. in Animal Science from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.  She spent the last 5 years working on housing, homelessness, and environmental policy in Mayor Liccardo’s office before joining Mayor Matt’s team. Prior to her time at the city, Mossing was an environmental advocate for the Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society, where she championed sensible land use decisions and policies to protect wildlife and open space. She is an avid equestrian and enjoys spending time with her family and pets.
